About Me
I remember having a small sewing machine at home from a very young age and my interest in sewing got stronger when I was 15 and Home Economics classes were required at school. I recall that most of the students were making wrap around skirts while I was permitted, due to my skill level, to make a pair of pants that required a higher skill level.
After graduating from High School, I chose to attend school to complete a one-year program at Pittsburgh Master Tailoring where I was trained by two very talented tailors from Italy. At the completion of this coursework, I was awarded my Certification as a Master Tailor. Because I always knew I wanted to own my own business, I complemented my Master Tailor training with several business courses.
When asked, “What was your favorite project in all these years of sewing,” I easily reply, “It was when I designed a matching pair of pants for my husband and I to wear to our family reunion.”
I truly love all types of sewing and look forward to a lifetime of doing alterations and custom sewing for my clients. Special interests of mine include adapting clothing for an individual person’s needs, e.g., using snaps instead of buttons on clothing for the elderly. I also have a passion for making cycling gear for avid bicyclists.
